In the UFC 127, BJ Penn fought and survived Jon Fitch for three rounds. It’s clearly that BJ Penn was dominated by Jon Fitch in the last round but Penn also gave a good performance in the first 2 rounds. In my count, BJ won the first round and a close decision in the 2nd round while Fitch for the third round. A majority draw is I think the proper decision for this fight and also a quick rematch should be made by the UFC.
BJ Penn said that God smile on him when the decision was announced for the majority draw because he thought he was ass kicked by Fitch in the last round.
I’m a fan of BJ Penn since the start of his career and now his career seems to be on the edge of the cliff right now. A rematch with Jon Fitch might be one of the his career ender fight and hope to see him throw punch and knees unlike playing Jon Fitch dirty hugging and lay’n pray fight style.
It’s okay if BJ Penn decided to retire but I want him to see in a championship bout maybe in welterweight division with GSP or Jake Shields. What do you think? Is it the right time for BJ Penn to end his career?
